Since our inception in 2001, we have grown our motor business to become a major insurer of blue chip customers in industry sectors such as retail, logistics, transport, construction, banking and food.

 

Our proposition is centred on delivering a highly responsive, personal and flexible service through our ever growing in-house account team complemented with the expertise of broker partners and independent motor industry specialists to develop a clear picture of the real risks the insured faces.

 

We look to reduce claims and legal costs whilst helping the insured meet the requirements of the ever-changing legal environment and importantly keeping premiums stable and as low as possible in this volatile sector.

 

In line with our commitment to providing flexible solutions, we have the capability to offer cover ranging from traditional low level excess programmes to those utilising aggregate deductibles encouraging higher levels of self insured retention. Each programme is designed in accordance with the insured's requirements.

MSI's Motor Risk Engineering is delivered in conjunction with partners such as Driving Services. In partnership we seek to strengthen existing practices through initiatives such as: -

  • Trend identification from claims statistics

 

All provide benchmarking opportunities to establish best practice. These positive risk management measures create greater efficiency for the insured when allocating internal resources, with potential cost savings in the day to day operation of their fleet. This approach also greatly helps in working towards delivering the compliance required by the Health and Safety Executive and the Department for Transport.

Claims Management

 

Our claims strategy is focussed on decision making, service management and cost control, with routine adjusting, administration and file handling functions outsourced to carefully selected experts.

 

The MSI Claims Team directly controls all aspects of outsourced claims services and designs claims management packages and procedures for each client, in line with their risks profile and insurance programme.

 

This tailored claims management service provides more cost effective pricing than composite insurers, whilst offering a more flexible services menu and data capture options.

 

Our processes allow each aspect of the claim to be dealt with concurrently, reducing the claim lifecycle wherever possible.

 

How it works

  1. The vehicle is insured by Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance
  2. The driver reports an incident to our Accident Management team by telephone (available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year)
  3. We organise collection of the vehicle and offer a courtesy car
  4. We inspect the vehicle via digital imagery or physical inspections
  5. Repair times are communicated to the driver
  6. Off road times are kept to a minimum
  7. The vehicle is repaired via a nationwide approved repair network
  8. Third party claims are handled proactively
  9. Anti-fraud screening at the notification stage
  10. Imprest fund management (as required)  
  11. Recoveries are managed proactively
  12. We deliver meaningful management information
