We specialise in underwriting UK/European-parented companies, who take a pro-active approach to loss control in this sector. We look to work in close partnership with brokers and their clients, who demonstrate a clear commitment to effective risk management and are willing to consider a programme of self-retention.

We bring together the Employers and Public Liability and Contract Works covers under one Account Underwriter who has an in-depth understanding of an insured's business. Key to our service is a core philosophy of creating tailor-made Risk Transfer Solutions for the insured.

We assess each and every risk in thorough detail and integrate Risk Engineering and Claims Management services into the underwriting solution, designed to meet an insured’s specific requirements.

Risk Engineering

The recent history of serious fires on UK construction sites, which prompted the development of the Joint Code of Practice for Fire Prevention, has focused the minds of all those involved in the construction and insurance industries on risk management.

A comprehensive and effective risk management programme is required through the construction/refurbishment phase of a building's life. Whilst fire remains the most recognisable risk to the completion of a project it is by no means the only threat. A far-reaching approach to risk identification, analysis and control is required.

Our Risk Engineering services proposal depends on the nature of the client's business and may range from simple fire surveys on specific or annual CAR policies through to a full-scale review of the procurement process. This encompasses the design stage of a project through to practical completion and product delivery. Expertise in the fields of casualty insurance, allows integrated programmes to be developed, which cover All Risk policy issues as well as considering risks to employees, members of the public and the environment.

Construction risk management services include, but are not limited to the following: -

  • Joint Code of Practice Surveys (Joint Code of Practice on the Protection from Fire Construction Sites and Buildings Undergoing Renovation)
  • Site security reviews. Best practice advice on protecting construction sites from the threat of arson and the securing of materials, plant and tools from theft.
  • Project reviews
  • Quality Management Reviews
  • Review of  Health and Safety management system
