Our team is comprised of experienced Marine specialists and our accessible style and innovative approach have quickly established Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance as a key player in the Cargo, Specie and Hull classes.

| Cargo | Our Marine team provides solutions for internationally sourced Cargo and Cargo Throughput business, predominantly written on a subscription basis in the London Market. Although the main emphasis is on large UK/EU companies that have a track record of responsible risk management, we also have a substantial portfolio of international business in chosen segments. |

| Hull | Focused on small to medium-sized fleets, we cover a selective book of ship owners, risk-managed shipyards and Hull War risks. The book is internationally sourced and written on a subscription basis in the London Market. |

| Specie | In addition to General Specie, we provide specialist cover for Fine Art, Cash-in-Transit and Diamond Dealers business, internationally sourced and written on a subscription basis in the London Market. |

Through the many years' experience of our team, we have built a wide range of close working relationships with consultants providing specialist support including loss control and risk engineering.
Located around the world, from diamond surveyors in Antwerp to risk consultants in South America, they give us direct access to impartial advice and information for the benefit of our brokers and their clients. Additionally, as members of Lloyd’s, we also have direct access to the wealth of detailed, up-to-the-minute information available through their global intelligence resources.
Claims Management
Aligned with our claims management philosophy, we offer our broker's clients the very best in claims service through the outsourcing of claims to carefully selected Third Party Administrators (TPAs). In the marine sector, we have engaged Xchanging Claims Services (XCS) to provide our claims management service. XCS are a market leading specialist claims management company supporting several Lloyd’s syndicates.
Our dedicated team at XCS are well known and respected in the industry and have developed a wide range of related expertise as well as having immediate access to the specialists in each segment of the business. As the Marine account has grown, we have reinforced our commitment to provide high quality insurance services to our clients in the marine sector by employing a Marine Claims Expert. Through our in-house Marine Claims Expert, we are in daily contact with XCS over specific claims and also meet with them regularly to discuss more general issues.
This allows us to monitor XCS in their performance as well as ensuring service levels and standards are in line with agreed protocols. Through our close working relationship with XCS, we are able to provide a proactive Marine Claims Service enabling us to meet specific claims needs by utilising our in depth knowledge and our bespoke approach.
